Lebanese, Omani Held For Hunting Birds

A wanted Omani expatriate was arrested along with his Lebanese friend while they were heading to Salmi desert area to hunt birds. Jahra securitymen were patrolling the area when they stopped a vehicle and checked the details of the two occupants to discover the driver is a Lebanese national while his friend is an Omani who is wanted by law over a case. When questioned, the Lebanese explained that they were only hunting sparrows rather than the “love bird” and that it was his first time. They were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary action.
