Man Arrested For Funding Isis Sympathisers In India

A man suspected of funding ISIS sympathisers in India has been arrested In Kuwait based on a tip-off from the National Investigation Agency or NIA.

Abdulla Hadi Abdul Rehman Al Enezi of Kuwait had allegedly sent $1000 to four young men in India including Areeb Majeed from Panvel in Maharashtra who joined the ISIS in May 2014 but returned months later.

Arib left Mumbai along with four friends on May 24, 2014. He returned to India in November that year and has been in custody since and is being prosecuted for several offences.

During questioning, he told his investigators that while he and 3 other ISIS sympathisers were in Iraq in early 2014, they had asked their ISIS handler for some money to go to Syria after which Al Enezi sent $1000 to them from Kuwait.

NIA had written to the Kuwait government about him, following which he was interrogated and now arrested.
