Ministry To Replace 30 Percent Expat Staff By Next Fiscal Year 2016-2017
All ministry departments are requested to prepare a list a 30 percent of their expat employees who could be laid off and replaced by citizens by the beginning of the fiscal year 2016-2017, reports Kuwait Times daily citing Al Anbaa Arabic news paper.
According to report, Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor’s (MSAL) administrative affairs department had requested all ministry department prepare the list and if concerned departments fail to send the lists in time,
The administrative department would itself decide whom to lay off in order to meet the government’s plans to appoint more citizens and reduce the numbers of citizens awaiting appointment as per CSC records. “This will not be done abusively and expats will get all their dues and have a chance to transfer their visas to the private sector,” the daily reported quoting reliable sources.
