Moe Copes Well With Summer Challenges

05 August 2016 Kuwait

The Ministry of Electricity has coped well with "the summer challenges" with the temperatures exceeding 50 degrees, a ministry official said on Thursday.

Mohammad Bou-Shehri, the undersecretary, said in a statement following an honoring ceremony for the team tasked with maintaining main relay stations that regular maintenance of the stations and equipment largely helped in coping with the high consumption of power during the summer peak period of time.

Maximum consumption of the electricity was recorded on July 17th, amounting to 13,310 megawatt during afternoon of that day, he revealed. Main power consumption is largely due to heavy usage of air-conditioning devices and networks in houses, factories and shopping malls.
