MOI Top Officer Held For Bribing

The Kuwait International Airport police have arrested a sergeant major working for the Ministry of Interior for attempting to bribe an employee to facilitate the departure of a Canadian person of Lebanese origin who is wanted by law in a financial fraud, reports Al-Rai daily. The suspect reportedly offered to pay KD 2,000 for the favor. According to a security source, the employee pretended to accept the offer and informed his supervisor. The daily added, the arrest came after the entire conversation between the employee and the suspect was recorded. The suspect and the Canadian have been referred to the authorities.
