03 November 2015 Kuwait

More than 100 officials in Kuwait have failed to disclose their financial assets, exposing them to legal action from the Public Investigations Authority According to local media, chief of the Public Anti-Corruption Authority, Abdulrahman Saleh Al Namash, said up to 111 officials have either failed to disclose their financial assets, or abstained from making the disclosure.

He added that the cases have been referred to the Public Investigations Authority, which could take legal action against the officials, as well as those who disclosed their assets late.

A source close to the State Audit Bureau is cited as suggesting the move is an example of increasing animosity between the executive and legislative authorities.
