More Than 40 Kuwaitis Arrested For Street Racing In Thailand

Thai local and tourist police cracked down on dozens of Kuwaitis for modifying the exhaust pipes of their motorbikes for racing.

The police arrested more than 40 Kuwaiti tourists aged 18 to 28, in the tourist town of Pattaya, and charged them with illegal street racing and reckless driving in breach of the law.

Local residents filed complaints with the police after dozens of Kuwaitis engaged in street racing all throughout Thursday night till early Friday, causing public inconvenience.

Local press reports said that policemen and volunteers set up road blocks on the beach roads and apprehended more than 40 Kuwaitis and seized 26 rented motorbikes.

The reports said that Kuwaiti tourists face trial on charges of reckless driving, while motorcycle rental operators would have to produce necessary documents before recovering their bikes.
