Mp Asked Government To Resign For Failing To Address Budget Deficit

26 August 2016 Kuwait

MP Hamdan Al-Azmi has asked the government to resign for failing to address the budget deficit, putting additional financial burdens on the shoulders of citizens, and its inability to regulate the prices of commodities.

Al-Azmi pointed out there are many measures other than touching the pockets of citizens; such as stopping the wastage of public funds in overseas treatment, ministries and other government institutions. He asserted the government is still addressing the consequences of its failures at the expense of ordinary citizens.

He said the government did not stop at increasing the prices of fuel and oil derivatives which will in turn raise the prices of food and consumer goods, because the Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) also unveiled a plan to double the monthly installment for government houses – from KD60 to KD120. He outrightly rejected this plan, asserting the government is proving day after day that it lacks the ability to manage the affairs of the country.
