Mp Riyadh Al-adsani Has Asked The Government To Look About Politically Motivated Withdrawal Of Citizenship
MP Riyadh Al-Adsani has asked the government to look into what he calls “politically motivated withdrawal of citizenship.” He stressed there is a huge difference between those who were stripped of citizenship for obtaining it fraudulently and those who lost their citizenship because of political motives.
He urged the concerned authorities to put on trial those proven to have obtained citizenship fraudulently, stressing the need to investigate citizenship cancellation decisions taken from 2014 till date. He pointed out that if the prime minister is keen on extending a hand of cooperation and opening a new page, then he must restore the citizenship of those stripped of their nationality for political motives and implement economic reforms without touching people’s pockets. He added the government must also resolve major issues such as housing, health, unemployment and education.
In another development, the parliamentary Educational Committee on Thursday agreed to hold a special session to discuss the current situation of the educational sector.
According to Committee Rapporteur Omar Al-Tabtabaei, the panel is looking forward to a national conference on education. He added the committee set seven priorities for the next phase including public universities, audio-visual public authority, higher committee for quality educational and quality assurance, student fund, council for higher education and scientific research, center for teacher development, and center for information, comparison and decisionmaking.
