A team from Capital Municipality headed by Tariq Al-Qattan destroyed about 74 kgs of expired foodstuff, which were confiscated from a foodstuff storehouse. The team also closed down a restaurant and issued a number of citations over various violations.

Most of the citations were issued for absence of health certificate for dealing with foodstuff, against employees who work in restaurants or operate a foodstuff outlet such as butchery and restaurant without holding health certificate licenses and for lack of cleanliness of the premises where foodstuff are handled.

In a press statement, Al-Qattan stressed that the emergency teams of Capital Municipality will continue to hold such inspection campaigns even after official working hours to ensure rules and regulations are strictly observed.
