No Iftar Tents This Year

Kuwait Municipality has reportedly turned down request from charity organizations, private companies and individuals to set up tents in front of mosques or on open grounds for the benefit of Muslims to help them break the fast during Ramadan.

A reliable source told the daily the rejection came in the best interests of the worshippers for security reasons at the request of the Ministry of Interior. In another development, police have arrested a Kuwaiti who had been sentenced in absentia for failing to pay KD 12,000 debt.

The daily added the man was initially arrested while driving in Jahra for violating a traffic law – speaking on the phone while driving.
