No Possibility Of Grace Period For Residency Violators

06 September 2015 Kuwait

Brig Adel Al-Hashash, Director of the General Department of Public Relations and Moral Guidance denied any plans to grant residency law violators in the country a new grace period to adjust their status.
Kuwait Times news paper, quoting Brig Hashah, reported that the ministry will not give residency law violators any amnesty to get “temporary residency” in the country.

He said reports about giving violators under Articles 18 (work permit) and 22 (family visa) an opportunity to apply to the Department of Residency Affairs, pay fines and get a temporary residency for three months are not true, adding the ministry will deport any iqama violators.
