Officials Urge To Stop Teaching Compensations And Rare Specialization Compensations In Summer Holiday

21 November 2015 Holidays in Kuwait

Assistant Undersecretary for Financial Affairs at Ministry of Education Yousef Al-Najjar says the State Audit Bureau considers the academic qualification award, teaching compensations and rare specialization compensations, which are granted to teachers during the summer vacation, as violations that must be stopped, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily reported quoting him as saying that the Fatwa and Legislation Department believes the teachers do not deserve these compensations during the summer vacations even if the leave salaries of the teachers are fully paid.

Al-Najjar wondered why the teaching profession is not equalized with other professions that receive compensations and salaries even during holidays and leaves, indicating that the current legal opinion is to suspend these compensations during teachers’ summer vacations and that they can be granted only during Hajj leave.
