Plan To Retire Kg-level Teachers And Admin Staff - Moe
Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Bader Al- Essa indicated about a plan to refer for retirement the teaching and administrative staff members of kindergarten level, who completed 30 years in service, in order to relieve the ministry of the excess number of female teachers which is currently 6,605.
The minister declared this on Thursday during the closing ceremony of the drama training course for female kindergarten teachers inside auditorium of Jabriya Kindergarten. He explained that 6,405 of the female teachers are Kuwaitis and 200 are expatriates.
The ministry has been considering referring for retirement a total of 1,173 teachers in June — 1,120 Kuwaitis and 53 expatriates. The mandatory age for other educational levels is 34 years. Dr Al-Essa also revealed that 8,273 expatriate teachers and 8,060 Kuwaiti teachers will be referred for retirement prior to the end of this year.
Meanwhile, spokesperson of Kuwait University Dr Bader Al-Hajji disclosed that the University Council has approved to support students with special needs with textbooks and timetables for 2016/2017 and 2017/2018 academic years.
He said the council has approved the promotion of 36 academic staff members and it appointed new deans in some faculties – Professor Suad Al-Abdulrahman for College of Arts, Professor Abdulatif Al-Khulaifi for College of Engineering and Petroleum, Professor Hamoud Al-Qash’an for College of Social Sciences and Dr Adel Malallah for Admission and Registration.
Dr Al-Hajji added that the council also renewed appointment of Professor Adel Khodhar as the Dean of Faculty of Medicine and renewed secondment of Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering in College of Engineering and Petroleum Dr Nayef Al-Mutairi as Rector of the Arab Open University- Kuwait Division for a period of one year starting from July 1, 2015, and Dr Mirza Hussein as the Executive Director at the International Bank for Construction and Development.
