Police Officer Arrested For Accepting Bribe To Release Persons

Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department have arrested an unidentified police officer for accepting bribe to release persons from police custody, according to a press release issued by the Public Relations and Security Media Department of the Ministry of Interior. The press release said the officer has been referred to the Public Prosecution for legal and disciplinary action. The Department said the Interior Ministry is bent on applying the law on all without discrimination. Although this case is seen as an individual incident, it should serve as a deterrent to others.
