Police Officer Arrested For Smuggling Drugs

Ports security personnel, affiliated to Egypt’s Interior Ministry, arrested one of Kuwait’s police officers as he attempted to smuggle narcotics through Ghardaqa Airport in Egypt.

Security officials at the airport suspected a passenger, hence, they searched his luggage before boarding his flight to Istanbul, Turkey. The security personnel found in his possession three rolls of hashish and various types of narcotic pills.

According to news published in an Egyptian newspaper, the arrested passenger was identified as a police officer in Kuwait, who admitted before the Egyptian security personnel under the command of Ports Assistant Minister of Interior Major General Hussam Nasser that he owns the drugs and he tried to smuggle them.

The incident was recorded in the Incidence Book as entry number two by Border Entries Assistant Minister of Interior Major General Hisham Al-Bastawi.
