Policeman Injured

A Kuwaiti citizen was arrested in Andalous area for drunken driving and knocking down a policeman of rank ‘First Lieutenant’ with his vehicle earlier this week.

According to security sources, Farwaniya securitymen were on routine patrol when they noticed a vehicle being driven recklessly and ordered the driver to pull over. They checked the civil ID of the driver to discover he is a Kuwaiti citizen. When they detected the odor of alcohol from him, they asked him to step out of the vehicle but he drove away, knocking down a policeman of rank ‘First Lieutenant’.

At the same time, the suspect’s brother and friend who were in another vehicle blocked the road to prevent the police from chasing the suspect. The suspect’s brother was arrested and referred for investigations while the injured offi cer was referred to Farwaniya Hospital for treatment. Investigations carried out by Farwaniya securitymen eventually led to the arrest of the suspect in Andalous area. They referred him to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.
