Prices Of Many Commodities Increased By 30-55 Percent
Prices of many commodities up 30-55 percent under the pretext of higher prices of transportation and storage as well as the unstable political situation of the region, reports Al-Shahed daily quoting reliable sources.
They revealed that many consumers have filed complaints in this regard with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Regarding the prices in some central markets and cooperative societies, the sources explained that the prices of vegetables have increased a lot within a year and there are indications that it will increase further this year.
They disclosed that the prices of meat have also been raised by 25-45 percent but the prices of fish are almost the same due to fear to traders of the boycott campaign that occurred three months ago. In other news, Kuwait Municipality affirmed that it will study the proposal for establishing lifts on pedestrian bridges for serving people with special needs, reports Al-Shahed daily.
It explained that the proposal has been granted to an international consultancy firm which will evaluate the existing pedestrian bridges, study the need for the lifts on pedestrian bridges and establish the safety measures. It will also study the movement of pedestrians and the method of linking of areas.
Meanwhile, Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) declared that it has received three mosques and three houses of imams with the project for maintenance and rehabilitation of general buildings in the suburb of Sabah Al-Ahmad City, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting informed sources.
They said the rehabilitation of the buildings is more than 85 percent complete, revealing that the contract is worth KD 38.514 million. They indicated that the project is expected to be completed in March.
