Real Story Behind Slingshot Video Was Discovered

An online video showing a human catapult that went viral two days ago has now been revealed to have been a prank.

In the video, a man is being thrown over Dubai Marina using a slingshot has been confirmed to be part of an ad campaign.

The video makes it seem as though he completely missed his landing mark, shocking viewers.

Many debated whether it was real or fake, with some claiming that it was an ad or a marketing campaign.

Yesterday it was revealed that it was Careem, a chauffeur cab booking service available in the UAE, that pulled off the stunt.

The company apparently wanted to launch off their services with a bang and hit upon this unique idea to do so.

The video has garnered nearly 140,000 views so far on various social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
