Shrimp Fishing Starts August 1 In International Waters

Kuwait Acting Chairman of the Public Authority for Agriculture and Fish Resources (PAAFR) Towfeeq Al-Haddad announced on Monday that the shrimp fishing season will start as of August 1st in the international waters. Al-Haddad said in a statement that fishing in the regional waters will be allowed as of the beginning of next month.
The authorized fishing nets would be displayed to the public and that surveillance patrols would accompany the fishing boats during the beginning of the shrimp fishing season to the sites in which fishing is allowed.
He pointed out that the Authority is working hard to protect the Kuwaiti fish resources from the dangers of extinction caused by the fishermen's violations of fishing laws and regulations.
