Traffic Crisis Costs About Kd 2 Billion In Kuwait

The Secretariat General of the Higher Council for Planning and Development has estimated cost of the traffic crisis in Kuwait at about KD2 billion annually. The traffic crisis continues to worsen as reflected in the statistics issued by the General Traffic Department for 2014-2015 which highlighted the negative consequences of the crisis without any tangible or actual interest in addressing the problem. The report also pointed out the rising number of casualties, accidents and traffic citations yearly that resulted in material and human losses; thereby, exhausting the concerned entities like the police force, firefighters, ambulances, hospitals and medical staff.
