The Court of Appeals presided over by Judge Nasser Salem Al He’d upheld the verdict issued by the Criminal Court which acquitted a Twitter user “Wahmi Kuwaiti” in a State Security case filed against him for allegedly harming the national interests, calling for the removal of the country’s ruling system and committing hostile actions against friendly countries Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The court overturned a verdict of three-year imprisonment with hard labor issued against the Twitter user over crimes related to using words deemed offensive to the Amiri entity, insulting Shiite citizens and misusing mobile phone. All the charges were leveled against the Twitter user by the Public Prosecution.
