DANCER IN THE DARK

A Danish Musical Drama directed by Lars Von Trier. Dancer in the Dark is the perfect example of How’s life in poverty and the degree of an extent a mother can go to, to protect her son. How lies sometimes can cause a person to lose their life and how eventually the truth cannot be hidden for long. It won the Best Film award at The European Film Awards. Dancer in the dark got a standing ovation at the 53rd Cannes Film Festival. Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times stated: "It smashes down the walls of habit that surround so many movies. It returns to the wellsprings. It is a bold, reckless gesture."
