A Landmine Exploded In Al- Abraq Area In Salmi Desert

A landmine exploded in Al- Abraq area in Salmi desert, resulting in the death of a 35-year old Sudanese camel herder and serious injuries to a Bangladeshi camel herder. According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about the accident, securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location to discover one of the camel-herders – a Sudanese national – died on the spot while the other – a Bangladeshi – sustained serious injuries.

The corpse of the deceased victim was referred to the Forensics Department while the injured victim was referred to Jahra Hospital for treatment. Preliminary investigations revealed that the landmine was a remnant of the Iraqi invasion in Kuwait. A case was registered and further investigations are ongoing in this regard. Meanwhile, a 28-year old Egyptian expatriate died and another sustained serious injuries in a traffic accident that took pace on Abdali Road.

According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about the accident, securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location to discover one of the victims had died on the spot while the other sustained serious injuries. The corpse of the deceased was referred to the Forensics Department while the injured victim was referred to Jahra Hospital for treatment. A case was registered and securitymen took necessary action in this regard. Meanwhile, an Asian expatriate miraculously escaped death when his vehicle split into two parts after colliding with another vehicle on Wafra Road. Paramedics referred the victim to Adan Hospital for treatment of the minor injuries he sustained.
