Increase In The Charges Of Medical Services Is Quite Normal
Undersecretary of Ministry of Health Dr. Khalid Al-Sahlawi stressed that any increase in the charges of medical services is quite normal, especially since these prices were not reviewed for a long time, reports Al- Anba daily.
He indicated that the increase in the prices will be accompanied by improvement in the standard of the offered services, revealing that the study to review the prices had ended one year ago. Dr Al-Sahlawi said the state is currently providing medical services to about three million expatriates at very low prices, which in turn constitute a heavy burden for the state to bear, affirming that the standard of the medical services will be re-assessed in order to make them better.
He explained that the health insurance hospitals will participate in easing the burden on the government hospitals by offering medical services to expatriates.
The partial opening of the medical centers affiliated to the Health Insurance Company will be during the first quarter of 2017 and the project will be fully completed by 2020.
The services of the Health Insurance Company will be limited to expatriates who work in the private sector, as there are about two million expatriates working in the private sector excluding the domestic workers.
The project involves construction of three hospitals and 15 medical centers which will help ease the burden on the government hospitals.
