132 People Arrested During Security Campaign

A security campaign, headed by Director General of Hawally Security Directorate Brigadier Abdeen Al-Abdeen with the participation of officers from the Operations Directorate, security patrols and leaders of other departments, was carried out from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm.

In a press statement, the directorate revealed the campaign led to inquiries about 1,200 individuals and arrest of 132 others for involvement in various crimes — one for a criminal case, 11 for civilian cases, 52 who were reported absconding by their sponsors, 60 who failed to present valid identification documents, eight who hold expired visas and several others involved in drug-related cases. The campaign also resulted in the issuance of 350 traffic citations and impounding of six vehicles for various violations.

Meanwhile, the General Public Relations and Security Media Department in the Interior Ministry confirmed the continuation of such campaigns to track down criminals.
