14 People Arrested For Violating Curfew
14 people were arrested yesterday for violating the partial curfew, revealed the Ministry of Interior. Legal measures were taken against them. The violators are 12 Kuwaitis and 2 expats, and were caught in five governorates; 4 in the Capital Governorate, 1 in Hawalli, 2 in Jahra, 4 in Mubarak, and 4 in Al-Ahmadi area, according to official statistics.
Yesterday, Kuwait security patrol arrested one person who broke the curfew near the Al-Kout Beach Hotel, a quarantine zone.
The number of curfew breakers has increased from earlier where 115 people were caught in the past six days since it went into effect last Sunday till Friday, reported Al-Qabas daily. The breakdown of violators were 51 Kuwaitis, and 64 Gulf citizens, bedouns and expats. A security source told the daily the number of citizens and Gulf nationals who violated the ban was 73, compared to 35 expatriates, and 7 bedouns, which roughly works out to 63.4 percent for Kuwaitis and citizens of Gulf countries, 30.4 percent for expatriates and 6.2 percent bedouns.
Statistics also show the Hawalli Governorate had the largest number of violators of the curfew with 37 violators; followed by the Capital Governorate with 32, Ahmadi Governorate came in third with 21 violators, Farwaniya fourth with 13 violators, Jahra fifth with 11 and the Mubarak Al-Kabeer only one violator.
The highest number of breach of the curfew occurred last Tuesday when 45 violators were arrested including 8 citizens, 37 Gulf citizens and expatriates.
