14,697 Kuwaitis Are Waiting For Appointment To Jobs

The latest statistics released by the National Employment Sector in the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) showed that 14,697 Kuwaitis are waiting for appointment to various private sector jobs and 55 of these citizens are holding university certificates, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The daily obtained a copy of the statistics that revealed a remarkable decline in the number of nationals waiting for appointment to private sector jobs; indicating the number decreased by 1,000 compared to the figures recorded in 2019.

Sources said the number of citizens who want to work in the private sector increased by eight percent in 2019 compared to the previous year.

In the last five years, the number of Kuwaitis who want to work in the private sector did not exceeded 37 percent of the total number of job seekers (6,000 out of 18,000) and this increased to 47 percent last year . Meanwhile, PAM has unveiled a plan to provide 150 private sector job opportunities in various fields of specialization which will be announced soon.
