18 Cars Seized For Using Illegal Races

The Ahmadi and Jahra traffic police during a security campaign in the Amghara Industrial Area are said to have seized 18 vehicles from a garage which were taken in for repairs without documents from the security authorities.

The daily added, the vehicles belonged to reckless motorists who used them for holding illegal races. The Interior Ministry statement described the garage as the biggest in the area and specialized in illegally repairing sports vehicles.

Some of the vehicles carried number plates from GCC countries, some had no number plates and others forged plates. One mechanic has also been arrested and referred to the concerned authorities for not carrying identification documents. The cars have been towed to the Interior Ministry garage while efforts are being made to identify the owners.
