01 November 2018 Crime News

Two expatriates have been referred for deportation after they were convicted of selling citizens’ data, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to informed sources, the suspects collected the data using a number of programs and applications.

They then placed an advertisement on a sales platform to sell the data to the largest number of buyers. When questioned, the suspects confessed to the crime.

The sources affirmed the nontolerance of Ministry of Interior concerning anything that negatively affected the security of Kuwait particularly information security, stressing that there is an increase in the monitoring against attempts to extract data via the information system.

They highlighted the keenness of the ministry to preserve the privacy of citizens and residents, and pursue violators of law especially those messing with the electronic interfaces that link the state systems.
