2 Indians Arrested For Begging

Within the intensive efforts made by the Interior Ministry to combat the phenomenon of begging, the General Department of Public Relations and Media Security reported that the Capital Governorate securitymen caught an Indian, identified as Abdul Matin Abdul-Jabbar, says a press release issued by the Ministry of Interior.

The beggar was caught in the Shuwaikh Industrial Area. Police have seized from him KD 44.750 fils.

The Farwaniya police have arrested an Indian woman, identified as Santhama Rama, born in 1969, who is under the sponsorship of Kuwaiti Majed Abdullah. She was caught in Andalus and police have seized from her KD 12.500 fils. Both the Indians have been referred to the Criminal Investigation Department prior to their deportation from the country. Action has been initiated against the sponsors.
