2 Officers Caught In Weapons Trade

08 March 2016 Crime News

Acting on information and armed with search and arrest warrants issued by the Public Prosecution, personnel from the Weapons Collection Unit affiliated to the Ministry of Interior have arrested two men – one of them employed by the Ministry of Defence and another working for the Interior Ministry – for trading in unlicensed weapons.

The military man was caught red-handed while selling a gun to an undercover police agent. The securitymen then set a trap for the policeman and caught him selling a machinegun, two pistols and rounds of ammunition also to a police agent. The men have been handed over to the concerned authorities. Meanwhile, investigations are continuing to find out if more men are involved in the trade.
