229 Held In Mahboula Raids
An extensive security campaign launched by Ministry of Interior in several locations within Mahboula area resulted in the arrest of 229 individuals. In a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior, the Public Relations and Security Media Department explained that securitymen led by Undersecretary of Ministry of Interior Lieutenant General Sulaiman Al-Fahad carried out inspections in suspected locations within the area and checked the records of residents and frequent visitors to these locations. They also closed all entries and exits in Mahboula area to carry out the campaign and track down violators of law and wanted individuals.
During the campaign, 229 individuals were arrested. Two among them are wanted by law for their involvement in criminal cases, 140 were reported as absconding, seven are wanted for civil cases, four are marginal workers, 13 had expired residencies, 61 did not possess any identification documents, and two were arrested for theft and selling liquor. All suspects were referred to concerned authorities for necessary legal action. The campaign was carried out based on instructions of the Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammad Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah to carry out such sudden security campaigns to arrest violators of law and fugitives. The Public Relations and Security Media Department urged citizens and expatriates to cooperate with securitymen and refrain from sheltering or protecting violators of law and fugitives in order to avoid being held legally accountable. It also urged people to support the campaign and report about any individual or activity that can put the security of the country at risk.
