Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr Badr Al-Essa has announced the referral of 250 fake certificates in the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training to the Public Prosecutor for investigation, reports Al-Anba daily. Speaking to reporters after attending the first meeting of the Follow-up Committee Al-Essa said the committee will verify the dubious certificates issued by non-accredited private universities in higher education. He pointed out the committee will submit its report within three months, subject to renewable until all files are reviewed accurately for an accurate decision to be applied in this regard. Al-Essa stressed he will not allow the existence of a person holding a fake certificate in “our educational institutions and we will take legal action against him.” He pointed out he will await the outcome of the prosecution investigations into the 250 certificate. He added the committee will study each file separately.
