4015 People Arrested In Jleeb Campaign , 1053 To Deportation

An extensive security campaign that was launched Tuesday morning in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area resulted in the arrest of 4,015 violators of law. Around 1,053 were referred for deportation. According to a press release issued by Ministry of Interior,

Public Relations and Security Media Department revealed that the Undersecretary of the ministry Lieutenant General Sulaiman Fahad Al-Fahad headed the campaign and was accompanied with Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs Major General Abdul Fattah Al-Ali, Assistant Undersecretary for Central Operations Major General Jamal Al-Sayegh and security leaders affiliated to the concerned security sectors.

The department explained that the police officers were distributed throughout Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area to arrest the violators of law and wanted individuals, after receiving permission from the concerned authorities to carry out the campaign.

The officers arrested 4,015 violators of law and seized five vehicles during the campaign. Of the arrested individuals, 13 were criminals, five were arrested for entering the country illegally,

115 individuals were reported as absconding, 27 were involved in civil cases, 47 violated the residency law, two were involved in drug cases, 36 were involved in prostitution-related cases, 112 were marginal workers, 95 were in possession of expired residence permits, 504 were not holding any identification documents,

58 were discovered to have arrest warrants issued against them, three were involved in liquor related cases, two individuals were arrested for committing public issues, 11 were arrested for running illegal international phone services and 13 individuals were arrested for manufacturing liquor. They also seized five vehicles that are involved in cases.

The official documents of many residents of the area were checked; some of them were discovered to be in the process of completing visa procedures. All individuals whose documents were in order were released. Public Relations and Security Media Department urged Kuwaiti citizens and expatriates to cooperate with security operatives during such campaigns as these campaigns are aimed for upholding the security of the country and the safety of the people residing in Kuwait.
