6 Women Injured After Elevator Collapsed At A Private Hospital In Hawalli

Six women were injured when an elevator collapsed at a private hospital in Hawali. The cable cord gave way at the fourth floor, causing the elevator to free fall to the basement. Civil Defence units opened the door of the elevator at the basement and rescued the women who were on the verge of asphyxiation.

One of the women suffered multiple fractures while the others sustained contusions and bruises. A security source said that one of the women had recently undergone a surgical operation and had just returned to the hospital for a checkup when the incident took place.
