8 Domestic Workers Offices Shut - Statistics

Statistics released by the Department of Home Employment for the first quarter of 2018 states the Department has revoked the licenses of 8 domestic workers offices for not complying with the law and stopped the activity of 6 other offices for violating the law, reports Al-Anba daily.

The statistics also show the licenses of 95 other offices were cancelled over the three-year period (2016, 2017 and 2018 – until date). The statistics added the Department which is headed by Major- General Talal Ma’arafi, investigated 631 complaints, 108 of which were referred to the court, and KD 141,000 were returned to the employers. A total of 735 expatriates were repatriated voluntarily in 2018.
