80 Campsite Atvs Impounded In Khairan

The General Security Sector (Ahmadi Security Directorate) has impounded 80 ATVs (all terrain vehicles) following a campaign in Khairan and Sabah Al-Ahmad Marine areas for violating traffic rules and regulations, reports Al-Rai daily.

The General Department of Public Relations and Security Information at the Ministry of Interior indicated the campaign came in implementation of the Cabinet Decision No. 900 of 2009, which prohibits the use of ATVs on main roads and paved roads, residential neighborhoods and interior and coastal areas, and the Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Marine City. The Ministry called has on citizens and residents to cooperate with the security forces in implementing the decisions issued for their safety and stressed on the need to respect the traffic rules not obstruct traffic.
