Skill Test For Expats To Work In Kuwait

Acting Director General of Public Authority for Manpower Ahmad Al-Mousa revealed that the authorities are preparing new mechanisms to organize the process of hiring expatriate personnel which includes skill tests, local daily Arab Times reported.

According to report, the centre for career skills will establish examination centers in Kuwait and overseas in coordination with Public Authority for Manpower to conduct theory and practical tests of the expatriates who wish to work in Kuwait, which will in turn help organize the labor market of the country.

Daily, quoting Al-Mousa reported that the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and State Minister for Planning and Development Affairs Hind Al-Sabeeh had earlier formed a team to identify the professions for which such tests have to be conducted and the conditions that expatriate personnel have to meet to enter the Kuwaiti labor market.

Al-Mousa explained that the shelter has the capacity of accommodating 500 expatriates until their conflicts with their employers are settled and they receive their due rights and their flight tickets back to their homeland. Psychologists, sociologists and legal experts will be assigned to follow up the situations of the expatriates residing in the shelter.
