A Kuwaiti Family Jailed For Abduction

29 April 2016 Kuwait

The Criminal Court presided over by Judge Mohammad Yousef Jafar sentenced a Kuwaiti citizen, his mother, brother and cousin to seven year imprisonment with hard labor for kidnapping his children from their mother, who had later filed the case because she is officially the guardian of their children.

The plaintiff counsel Lawyer Dalal Al-Mulla said her client, who is an Egyptian wife of the Kuwaiti man, was given the custody of their children but the man, with the help of his mother, brother and cousin,

kidnapped the children and took them overseas. She revealed that her client’s husband presented documents to prove he needed overseas treatment and then asked for lifting the travel ban imposed on the children. After the concerned authorities approved his request, he managed to leave the country with the children before the court issued its verdict.
