A Kuwaiti Teacher Fined

The Criminal Court fined Professor Mohammad Al- Hajiri of the Faculty of Sharia KD 10,000 in the State Security case in which he is accused of belittling the Shiite doctrine through a lecture he delivered in the faculty. A group of students filed a complaint against Al-Hajiri after he shared an opinion about temporary marriage in a discussion and said ‘the Sunni doctrine prohibits this kind of marriage and some related interpretations in Shiite doctrine’. It is noteworthy the Public Prosecution ordered Al-Hajiri’s release on KD 5,000 bail bond, as he denied all accusations leveled against him.
