Aidmo Executive Board Session Vital To Promote Industrial Integration
Director General of (Kuwait’s) Public Authority for Industry Abdulkarim Taqi on Thursday affirmed the importance of the 54th Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organization (AIDMO) Executive Board session in promoting Arab industrial integration and coordination among Arab countries at this level. This came in a statement to KUNA on the sidelines of the AIDMO Executive Council session held in Rabat – headed by Kuwait, with participation of delegations representing a number of Arab countries.
The session reviewed the Arab Strategy for Standardization and Quality in the next five years, as well as Halal Technical Regulations entitled ‘Arabic Halal Program’, said Taqi, who is heading the Kuwaiti delegation.
The Council was also briefed about the follow-up report on the implementation of the organization’s strategy and the road map for the period of 2017 to 2020. He added that the Arab countries provided AIDMO with the updated data and information available to the organization’s information systems.
Director General of the organization Adel Al-Saqr’s report was also discussed in the 53rd and 54th sessions, with participants praising his efforts in managing the organization. Taqi thanked the representatives of the Member States participating in the work of the Executive Council for their support of the Arab industrial sector, and pointing out importance of this sector in the economic and social development plans through effective contribution to the local crude output of the Arab countries.
The 54th AIDMO Executive Board session started on Tuesday with the presence of a number of Arab member states, including Kuwait a delegation led by Taqi and Deputy Director General for Finance and Administration Abdullah Al Seheli.
