Al-aqsa Mosque Doors Reopened For All Ages
The Islamic Awqaf Department said Friday all doors of Al-Aqsa Mosque were reopened for worshippers from all ages and without restrictions.
All doors were opened paving way for hundreds of Palestinians from all ages to perform Maghreb and Ishaa prayers in Al-Aqsa Mosque, Feras Al-Debs, the department media official, told reporters.
Israeli occupation forces imposed tight security measures around Al-Aqsa Mosque before Friday prayers and banned all people below 50 years old from entering the mosque.
Sporadic clashes took place in the West Bank, including in occupied Jerusalem, which wounded 225 Palestinians. Russia called for maintaining the situation in Jerusalem as it was before the closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The foreign ministry called for refraining from all unilateral measures which would undermine the final settlement.
Some 10,000 Palestinian perform Jumaa prayers at Al-Aqsa
Up to 10,000 Palestinians have performed the Jumma (Friday) noon prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque, the first in two weeks after Israel a day earlier removed all the security measures in place since July 14.
About 10,000 Palestinian managed to reach Al-Aqsa and performed the Jumaa prayers inside, the Palestinian Islamic Awqaf Department said in a statement.
Thousands of Palestinians, mainly those under 50, had to perform the prayers in the streets and of Al-Quds Al-Sharif as the Israeli forces did not allow them to reach the Al-Aqsa complex.
Early on Friday, the Israelis applied restrictions on entry of Al-Aqsa banning Palestinian males less than 50 to enter, as large military reinforcements were deployed and barricades were fixed within the Mosque's vicinity.
