All Bail Requests Rejected In Hospitality Case

20 February 2020 Crime News

The Criminal Court, presided over by Judge Mut’eb Al-Ardhi, recently rejected all bail requests for those involved in the ‘Interior Ministry Hospitality’ case and postponed the issuance of its ruling until April 19, 2020.

The defense lawyer submitted bail requests for the defendants, stressing that there is no justification for their imprisonment as they are Kuwaitis and their places of residence are known but the court decided to reject the requests.

It is worth mentioning that the court issued a decision to detain all nine suspects who were previously released, including two former administrative and financial affairs officials in the ministry, officials of a number of hotels and employees in the ministries of Interior and Finance.

The case, filed under Numbers 56/2018 and 18/2019, involves 24 people including officials of the ministries of Interior and Finance accused of forgery, gross negligence, squandering of public funds and money laundering
