Ban On Working Under Hot Sun Ends

This year’s ban on laborers from working under the scorching sun from 11 am to 4 pm has ended.

Acting Director General of the Manpower Public Authority Abdullah Al-Mutawtah revealed that inspection teams used to tour construction sites throughout the country during the period to ensure compliance to the ban.

Al-Mutawtah explained that the teams usually issued warnings for first-time violations. If the violations were repeated, they issued citations and referred the cases to the General Investigations Department at Ministry of Interior where the violating companies had to pay fine of KD 100 per laborer.
