Pharmacists acquitted: The Court of Appeals upheld the verdict of the First Instance Court which acquitted four pharmacists of engaging in the profession without obtaining a license from the Ministry of Health and possessing 4,000 Lyrica tablets with the intention to sell although these tablets are not recorded and not allowed for circulation. The Public Prosecution filed the abovementioned charges after the arresting officer testified that while he was on duty in Farwaniya, he noticed a vehicle driven by one of the accused who exchanged seats with his companion, thereby disrupting traffic movement. The officer then signaled for them to pull over and when he approached the vehicle, he saw packages of Lyrica on the back seat. He then searched the accused and the vehicle, resulting in the discovery of the Lyrica tablets and KD 775 cash. Attorney Yusuf Al-Adwani, who represented the accused in court, argued that the arrest and search procedures were illegal while the case documents do not include any evidence.
