China Presents 1000 Books To Kuwait National Library

The Embassy of Republic of China in Kuwait has dedicated a collection of 1,000 books to the Kuwait National Library on Monday in a ceremony held at the library. In his speech, the Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait H.E. Wang Di said, "These books would be a window for Kuwaitis on China, and were in Arabic and English and covered a variety of topics including Chinese history, culture, literature, economy, and tourism."

He revealed that the Chinese embassy is attaching great importance to this type of cultural exchange to build bridges of friendship among the community of the two nations. The Chinese Ambassador Wang Di pointed out that Chinese-Kuwaiti relations are steadily growing and expanding due to the mutual trust among leaders of the two countries. The cultural exchange was also increasing day by day, he added, considering that a fruit of the thriving mutual economic and trade relations.

On his part, Director General of the Kuwait National Library Kamel Al-Abduljalil thanked the Chinese embassy for their cooperation with the library and for their precious gift to the library. The books would be displayed in a special exhibition at the library for two weeks, he added.

Al-Abduljalil revealed that the library was embarking on a series of activities in cooperation with diplomatic missions in Kuwait to educate the library visitors about other world cultures including the organization of special exhibitions under the theme of 'embassies show civilizations'.
