Committee Rejected Government Amendments To Early Retirement Law
The Financial and Economic Affairs Committee of the National Assembly has rejected by a majority vote government amendments to the early retirement law. The Committee’s Rapporteur MP Saleh Ashour said the committee has rejected the amendment after the first deliberation of Article 17 in order to protect the employee from forced retirement after 25 years. The Committee maintained retirement is optional and the right for retirement remains in place for those who have served the country for 30 years in the case of males and 25 years for females without any age limit.
In another development, MP Ahmed Nabil Al-Fadhel has submitted a proposal calling on the Ministry of Information to provide funds for the Kuwait Football Association to broadcast live second division matches on a special sports channel. He said sports, is not only a hobby at present, but it has become an industry in developed countries, especially the game of football for its popularity and a source of income and employment. He called every sport an investment
