Court Acquitted A Citizen Of Killing His Compatriot In A Traffic Accident

22 March 2017 Crime News

The Misdemeanor Court acquitted a citizen of killing his compatriot in a traffic accident. The Public Prosecution charged the citizen for manslaughter through reckless driving that resulted in the death of a citizen and injuries to another. The allegations included driving in excessive speed, which caused eviction of the deceased person from his seat inside the vehicle. Defense lawyer Abdulaziz Al-Banwan maintained his client did not cause the incident, indicating it was the fault of the victim. He added his client was surprised when the victim parked at the emergency lane and he couldn’t help crashing into the vehicle. He blamed the victim for not abiding by traffic regulations, noting his client was driving on the specified speed limit.
