Court Acquitted Sheikh Hani Shaaban Of Publishing False News On Twitter
The Criminal Court acquitted Sheikh Hani Shaaban who was accused of publishing false news on Twitter. He was defended by Lawyer Jalil Al-Tabbakh. Sheikh Hani had published some posts on Twitter following the acquittal of preacher Othman Al-Khamees of charges of alleged contempt for the Shiite sect. The Public Prosecution had pressed charges against Sheikh Hani of deliberately publishing false news overseas about the country’s internal situation and of misusing smartphones for this purpose.
